Charmaine Phillips graduated from the University of Virginia in 1990 with a BA in both English and Afro-American Studies. After leaving UVA, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she began a teaching career that lasted six years. She obtained her Real Estate license in 1994. In 2003, she obtained her Brokers license and started her own firm, Portfolio Builders Real Estate Co. She has continued to assist clients in various areas of the profession including Sales, Consulting, Property management, and Investment Real Estate. She has sold approximately 300 homes with a career total of $40M in sales volume.
As a real estate investor, she uses her experience in money management, consumer credit, and real estate investing to teach financial principles and generational wealth. She continues to work as a mentor and a teacher through her real estate and financial seminars. Her vision is to empower and teach people to take control of their finances to change their future and impact the lives of their children. Her goal is to change the way people view finances through God's Word, her experience, and personal insight.
She began investing in real estate in 1989 as she felt it was the fastest way to build wealth. She manages her personal real estate portfolio which has included single & multi-family properties, commercial, and land.
She is the author of How Willing Are You? Laying a Foundation for Financial Change. The book has been helpful to readers in a financial struggle looking for hope and a change, and readers who are looking to learn more about financial principles and avoid financial pitfalls.
